The purpose of BibleMarriages
To help people examine Scripture carefully and take seriously what it asks of us in marriage, family, and the life of the household.
Why this work exists
BibleMarriages is an independent, reader-supported teaching project. The work brings together articles, videos, biblical studies, and responses to common objections about marriage and the household.
Our convictions include male headship under Christ and the belief that Scripture permits polygyny. These are distinctive positions, and readers deserve a clear account of the passages and reasoning behind them. The goal is careful study that bears fruit in faithfulness and responsibility.
You are welcome to examine the work before deciding what you think. The teaching is freely available, and financial support is voluntary.

We invite readers to examine our claims in Scripture, including the conclusions that challenge familiar teaching. Questions and corrections belong in that process.
Acts 17:11 · 1 Thessalonians 5:21
The Lord’s servant is called to be kind, able to teach, patient when wronged, and gentle in correction. That is a standard for how this work should speak, especially in disagreement.
2 Timothy 2:24–25
Teaching about headship must carry the full weight of a husband’s duties: self-giving love, nourishment, care, and honor. Scripture’s charge to husbands includes a direct command against harshness.

Mike Jones of Inspiring Philosophy debated a Hebrew Israelite on Modern-Day Debate and staked his whole case on Leviticus 18:18. Part 1 answers his opening statement — the “a woman to her sister” idiom, Genesis 2:24, Exodus 21:10, and Yah’s own two wives.
YHVH calls Himself a jealous God, so jealousy itself is not sin. But every instance of righteous jealousy in scripture belongs to God or a man holding delegated authority. Survey the word: no authority, no righteous jealousy.
