Privacy Policy

BibleMarriages publishes teaching and receives support from readers. We never sell or rent your personal information. We use our own mailing system together with email, payment, hosting, and analytics services to operate the work. This policy explains what those activities involve.

Newsletter and partner emails

When you sign up for the free newsletter, we store your email address and subscription status in our self-hosted Listmonk mailing system. Newsletter signup normally requires you to confirm your address by email; the signup form tells you whether confirmation is still needed. The newsletter contains new teaching and occasional updates, with no fixed sending schedule.

Qualifying monthly supporters are added to a separate partner list using the email address supplied at checkout. We may also store the name supplied there. That list delivers the early-access benefit of partnership; it does not sign you up for the public newsletter. We also use payment details to send supporter thank-you messages and handle billing or support questions.

Email delivery uses SMTP2GO. The recipient address and message content are processed by that provider to deliver email, including service messages and internal notifications about signups and partnership changes. Keeping our mailing list in Listmonk does not mean that email delivery happens without a service provider.

Payments

Stripe processes card gifts and monthly support through its hosted checkout. Your full card number does not pass through our application. Stripe provides information such as your checkout email, name when supplied, gift amount, currency, and payment or subscription status so we can acknowledge gifts, provide partner benefits, and handle billing questions.

Bitcoin gifts are recorded on the public blockchain. Our server generates receiving addresses and checks their public transaction history through mempool.space. The Bitcoin giving form does not ask for your name or email address.

Analytics and browser storage

The site uses self-hosted Umami analytics and supports DataFast analytics when enabled. These help us understand visits, teaching viewed, newsletter signups, and support for the work. The custom events sent by our application include details such as the form used, signup outcome, and gift amount; they do not include the newsletter email address.

Umami does not require analytics cookies. DataFast may use visitor and session cookies. When those identifiers are present, our checkout integration includes them in Stripe checkout metadata so giving can be connected with the visit that led to it. The site therefore should not be understood as entirely cookieless or as using only self-hosted analytics.

Your browser also stores your light or dark theme preference. Browser settings let you remove or block cookies and local storage; doing so may affect preferences or third-party features.

Embedded media and other providers

• Stripe processes payments under Stripe's privacy policy.
• SMTP2GO provides email delivery, and DataFast processes analytics when enabled, as described above.
• YouTube, Rumble, and Spotify provide embedded media. YouTube thumbnails can load before playback; the YouTube and Rumble players load when you choose to play them. Spotify embeds may load with the page. These services receive browser requests and may use cookies or other storage under their own policies.
• Faithlife RefTagger provides Scripture-reference tooltips through an external script, which makes requests to that service.
• Hosting services process requests needed to deliver the site. Server logs and abuse-prevention checks may include IP addresses, request details, and browser information. Signup abuse prevention also uses the email submitted.

External links, including book purchase links, take you to services with their own privacy policies. Some book links are affiliate links, as disclosed on the book pages.

Your choices and questions

Use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter to leave that mailing list. Newsletter signup and monthly partnership are separate choices. Unsubscribing from email does not cancel a recurring gift; to stop future renewals, email hello@biblemarriages.org. See the Terms of Use for more about recurring support.

Children

This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above.
